Susan started Snow Goose Studio 28 years ago. After years of quiet commercial use it was re-opened as a creative art studio. Art workshops, classes and tutoring are offered throughout the year.

Pen & Ink Drawing
Investigate the variety of different tools and techniques used in inks. We will additionally explore working in colored ink, watercolor pencil and crayons as embellishments to inl drawing. Many tools supplied, some materials are required. Beginner to intermediates welcome.

Watercolor Stick Painting
Explore the possibility of wet-into-wet watercolor without using conventional watercolor tools. Put aside your brushes and water bucket to experience this unique approach. Designed to loosen up your creative energy! A new approach to pigment & water. Build your confidence in a medium that has traditionally overwhelmed artists. Fun exciting techniques will give you the opportunity to explore your spontaneous side. No previous experience is necessary.

Introduction to Brown Bag Paper Mache
Experience the most outrageous process while learning to sculpt in paper mache. Fun for all levels of artistic talent. Two fun filled days Susan Barry will introduce a unique method to mache just about anything your mind can imagine! All materials are included. In this two day workshop you will take home your own sculpture and a helpful booklet so you can create in your own home.

Introduction to Basic Watercolor Painting
A beginning look at watercolor styles and techniques. Learn how pigments mix together to give you a dynamic watercolor painting. A fun, easy approach to learning teaches you how to combine the right colors at the right time. Explore simple elements of composition and design, glazing and under painting. Learn more about the everyday household tools for watercolor. Fun exercises and experiments combining water, brush, pigment, & paper. Enjoy the process of discovery. Most materials are included in this workshop. Bring a piece of watercolor paper, a lunch and be prepared to have some wet & wild times!

The basic tool for any artist is their sketchbook or journal. Learn ways to make your sketches work for you, explore the many diverse tools you can use and develop a knowledge of good composition and design for your final art pieces, using your preliminary sketches.

Watercolor Fun
Watercolor artist, Susan Barry introduces the enjoyment of watercolor through the basic concept of pigment and water. Using simple household items you will create a colorful landscape. No previous experience necessary and the class is open to all levels of watercolor painters.

Paper Mache Sculpture
Working with wire, paper and a fertile imagination you will learn the process of paper mache sculpture. Learn painting and decorating techniques to complete your design. This rewarding three dimensional art form, is an excellent way to express your budding talents. All materials included. Just bring a lunch.

Wet-into-Wet Watercolor Workshop
Explore the possibilities wet paper and pigment offer to the watercolor painter.Through a series of demonstrations and exercises learn how to achieve bright colorful landscape and floral mini paintings. Fun, easy techniques that give you the opportunity to explore watercolor.

Waterfalls, Trees & Rocks Watercolor Workshop

Watercolor Pencils & Crayons
Experiment with watercolor pencils and crayons. This one day workshop is designed for the novice and first time entry to these water media tools. Experiment and enjoy creative exercises. You learn new skills and techniques in a non threatening atmosphere. Small materials list will be mailed.
